Once upon a time... I asked someone if they knew any knots.

They said they remembered one from the army.  It was called a Jam Knot (I think).

Anyway, it was so stupid / simple, it blew my mind!

Up until that point, I was tying these crazy, over engineered systems, and this knot made those seem like such overkill.

They said they would use this to secure camping stuff, and use this to lash things together.

I forgot about the lashing stuff together, until today.

Since then, I have used that jam knot quite a bit, having to remember how to tie it once in a while.  I seem to have seen a few variations...

Once you get it, you get it, though.

Anyway, the time has come where these blankets are stacking up, and it would be great to roll them up and use the jam knot to secure them tight.

Here are a few examples.

Also, while trying to move around these white board roller frames, I remembered to use this knot to lash stuff together.  Worked great.  Almost bonded them together and makes it almost "hard" to separate them.

For what its supposed to do, it did the trick!
