I had to set this up and break it down... Let me break it down now...
So, at some gyms and outdoor areas, you will have two quickdraws at the top of your route. The gates should be facing opposite ways, and when clipping your rope in for a lower, you want to make this tear drop shape, and have the carabiners oriented a certain way. Basically, you don't want to twist them but have the rope clipped into both of them and in a way where it won't pop out.
One way that is helping me to remember how to achieve this, is thinking of that Metallica song Disposable Heroes, where they say, "Back to the front!" Or, how youre not supposed to wipe from the back to the front, but here you do what youre not supposed to do... Make sense?
Check out my video and let me know if you do it any different.
I'm told that grabbing the front of the rope (from your harness) and doing the opposite of what I'm saying works... Bringing the front of the rope to the back... In my opinion this is hard to handle, and get it to clip.
My question is this... Does it make sense which quick draw is in front of the other? (You'll see what I mean in the video).
*Update:
I'm gonna try doing this while "actually" climbing, and see if anything gets tripped up...
